Opens, Preflight, manipulates, and processes files to meet job requirements.
Outputs files as necessary to meet job requirements using appropriate output device including Epson, and Creo spectrum devices.
Inspects output material including paper, contract color proofs, and plates to assure conformance to job and ColorGraphics requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Estimates the cost figure that realistically reflects the average cost that will be required to produce a job.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following describes the general nature and level of work, but it is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all activities, duties and responsibilities required of the job incumbent. Consequently, job incumbents may be asked to perform other duties as required.
- Prepares the job plan on how the job will be estimated.
- Establishes estimated production time for each operation.
- Interfaces with production and manufacturing staff on questionable or tight job plans to ensure that the job can be produced from the job plan.
- Obtains cross pricing from vendors for the best quality /price.
- Provides 24-48 hour basic turnaround of estimates and in some cases, less than 24 hours. Notifies sales as soon as possible when the required turn around will be a problem so other arrangements can be made.
- Processes cost change orders as required.
- Provides information and suggestions to sales to propose more economical alternatives or product improvement for the customer.
- Communicates with production any special knowledge or insights about "live jobs" that they estimated.

SUMMARY - Coordinates crew members to make ready, maintain, and operate the press in an efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - The following describes the general nature and level of work, but it is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all activities, duties and responsibilities required of the job incumbent. Consequently, job incumbents may be asked to perform other duties as required.
- Operates the press in a manner to create and maintain an over-all impression.
- Instructs and observes that crew members perform the following procedures for color control: Ink fountain settings, ink level control, dampener settings, proper fountain solution balance, ink sequence, ink tack/fountain solution pick-up, register and proper packing, and densitometer.
- Communicates to each crew member, as required: What to do when a job is started; the job number; the colors to be printed; the color sequence to be used; the paper to be used; the quantity to be produced; press delivery system to be used; and any important detail of the final product.
- Performs the following administrative procedures for web press management systems including: Job entries, quantity entries, ink entries, stock entries, code changes, roll reports, shift reports, job end reports.
- Communicates with customers, when requested: Shows press sheets for customer approval; explains technical difficulties; obtains final press approval.
- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves the following type problems: Ink, fountain solution, paper, plate, blanket, roller or packing.
- Instructs and observes the following mechanical functions are performed by crew members: Sheeter blade installation, oven settings, folder setups, lap changes, guide controls, perforation/gluing units, web tension, changing cutting rubbers, and setting knife boxes.
- Console Control responsibilities:
- Register: fits 2 or more printing images in exact alignment with each other around the circumference of the cylinder. Sideway moves: register 2 or more images in exact alignment with each other from side to side across the width of the printed sheet. Cutoff controls: Positions and maintains the web through a set of compensation rollers to allow for proper alignment when inline folding, off line folding.
- Unit Control Responsibilities:
- Roller settings: sets and adjusts ink and water rollers to achieve optimum print quality.
- Ink sequence: sets up the press for proper ink trap and print contrast
- Plate and blanket packing: add or reduce packing underlays or pressure to maintain or improve print quality.
- Bearer setting: Performed by a factory trained mechanic when recommended by to be done.
- Ductor settings: sets and adjusts ink and water rollers to achieve optimum print quality.
- Fountain assembly: sets up fountains. Normally delegated.
- Web guide setup: Sets up an electronic eye designed to control the web movement while the press is running. Oven temperature settings: Sets and adjusts the temperature as it relates to drying of the printed material. Silicone Unit: Sets up and maintains silicone levels as they are applied to the web while running. Perforation/score/glue unit: Sets up and maintains if any auxiliary inline finishing needs are required.

SUMMARY - Sells products for manufacturer or distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of company's production and delivery schedules.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Coordinates customer training as needed.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with manufacturing, pricing, invoicing, or deliveries.
- Attends trade shows.
